William and Deneen Spruill STEM Scholarship Application

Kappa Youth Development, Inc. in conjunction with William and Deneen Spruill will be awarding a scholarship in the amount of $1000 for an African American Male graduating high school student. student majoring in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math).
Eligibility
In order to be eligible for the 2025 William and Deneen Spruill/Kappa Youth Development, Incorporated Scholarship, students must:
- Be a graduating high school senior.
- Have a minimum GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0.
- Applicant must live in Prince Georges County or Southern Maryland.
Criteria
In order to be considered for the award, all applicants must submit the following information:
From Applicant:
- Completed application – typed and signed, an electronic signature is acceptable.
- Completed application essays – typed Essays are limited to 500 words. (See section 11 for more details)
- Student resume (1-2 pages) – outlines leadership, extracurricular activities, work experience, awards.
- College information sheet – includes list of schools accepted to, intended major, career interests.
- Acceptance letter from university.
- A copy of your high school transcript included with your application.
Application deadline is 11:59pm on April 15, 2025 to be received by Kappa Youth Development, Inc. The scholarship application must be received by the Kappa Youth Development, Inc. on or before the application submission date. Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted.
